Elite: Dangerous on the PC gives more opportunities for additional addons and hardware. Below is a list of extras I use to enhance the game.
VOICE ATTACK Available on steam for £8.99
Elite requires a lot of keybinds which can be difficult to remember. Voice Attack turns your voice into an extra input device! Simply say the command and VA will press a predefined key or macro for you. The capabilities are endless. I've even setup a command to initiate automated tea-bagging manoeuvres!
HCS VOICE PACKS Available direct from £9.99
HCS is a voice addon pack for Voice Attack that includes lots of predefined macros for Elite Dangerous that really brings the game to life. Prices start from £9.99 with lots of different celebrity voices including William Shatner and loads more!
A tool for detecting the graphics settings of Elite while it is running, and providing the ability to create and apply profiles before launching, for example a different profile for running on a monitor and a VR device.
I found it difficult to control the game with a game pad or mouse and keyboard and nearly gave up until I bought a HOTAS (Hands on Throttle and Stick). Personally I went with a Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS on a recommendation and the control you get is fantastic. There are lots of other options available and prices vary but is well worth the investment.
Of course Elite supports VR and I love playing the game with the Oculus Rift but for streaming purposes I stick to the monitor. A subscriber very kindly donated a TrackIR to the channel and this enables head tracking on the monitor and is an awesome bit of kit that is somewhere between monitor gaming and virtual reality.
